Installation Requirements For Electromagnetic Flowmeters

Apr 28 , 2019

Here is Chemical Flowmeter China Supplier talking about Installation requirements for electromagnetic flowmeters.

If you have any idea about it, welcome to contact us and discuss.

The Electromagnetic Flowmeter consists of two parts: a sensor and a converter. It is based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction and is used to measure the volumetric flow of conductive liquid with conductivity greater than 5μS/cm. It is an inductive instrument for measuring the volumetric flow of conductive media. In addition to measuring the volume flow of general conductive liquids, it can also be used to measure the volumetric flow rate of strong corrosive liquids such as strong acid and alkali, and uniform liquid-solid two-phase suspension liquids such as mud, slurry, and pulp. Widely used in petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, textile, paper, environmental protection, food, and other industrial sectors and municipal management, water conservancy construction, river dredging and other fields of flow measurement.

1. Choice of installation location

In order to make the flowmeter work reliably and stable, the following aspects should be noted when selecting the installation site:

(1) Try to avoid magnetic objects and equipment with strong electromagnetic fields (such as large motors, large transformers, etc.) to prevent the magnetic field from affecting the working magnetic field and flow signal of the sensor.

(2) It should be installed in a dry and ventilated place as much as possible. It should not be installed in a place with damp or water accumulation.

(3) Sunlight and rain should be avoided as much as possible to avoid ambient temperature above 60 °C and relative humidity greater than 95%.

(4) Choose a place that is easy to maintain and convenient for activities.

(5) The flowmeter should be installed at the rear end of the pump and must not be installed on the suction side; the valve should be installed on the downstream side of the flow.

2. Selection of installation pipe location

In order to make the flowmeter work reliably and stable, the following points should be noted when selecting the pipe installation position:

(1) The sensor can be installed on a vertical pipe, a horizontal pipe or a slanted pipe, but the center connection of the two electrodes is required to be horizontal.

(2) When the electromagnetic flowmeter is working, it is always required that the measuring tube is filled with the measured medium. To ensure this during horizontal installation, the elevation of the sensor installation location may be slightly lower than the elevation of the pipe if necessary, as shown in Figure 4-6, or to provide sufficient back pressure downstream of the sensor.

At the same time, Chemical Flowmeter Supplier can be offered for you.  Looking forward to receiving your inquiry kfweili@163.com.
